Beyond The Gate – a BOM

Margaret Bucklew announces Beyond The Gate. It was designed for quilters that just couldn’t wait for the typical twelve month BOM. It is 92″ x 109″ and is fun to complete. Because of the size of the quilt, the photo doesn’t show any detail, so she put together a video with close ups and a tour of the quilt.

“Patty Piper Pieced a Pair of Painless Pointless Pinwheels” is a beginner-easy quilt. I give directions for two sizes- a large cuddle quilt (48″ x 60″) as well as twin size. With this pattern you piece the blocks, cut them in half, use half for each quilt. The light/dark value placement is reversed. To make each quilt unique, a different large scale print is used for each border. This is a great pattern for siblings that share a room; the quilts coordinate, but you can choose a border fabric representing each child’s interests.
