“CK Media, parent company of Creating Keepsakes and PaperCrafts magazines, can no longer deny (after months of rumors) that it is in financial trouble after word has come out publicly that the company has hired turnaround and bankruptcy consultants CRG Partners to assist it.”

In an update to her post, Nancy links to designers (who blog) who remain unpaid for their submissions to CK Media, such as Lisa Dickinson and forums such as Studio Calico.
The magazines published by CK Media, spanning the scrapbooking, quilting and sewing spectrum, can be seen here.

Fairfield Batting

We had a marvelous time at Spring Quilt Market in Portland learning about the newest in battings. Tracy, from Fairfield , told us about the Bamboo Batting, Corn and so much more. The little pink sampler quilt was the softest thing I’ve touched in quite a while. Based in Fairfield, Connecticut, they are making a significant effort to bring responsibility to quilting.

Pre-made quilt sleeve on a roll. Brilliant! Quilters Hangup is going to be the new “gotta have”. For quilters, shops, longarmers and show organizers, here’s an answer to that last minute issue of having to put a regulation sleeve on a quilt for a show. Read Teri’s story here…..we wish her luck on what is sure to be a very successful journey. Nicely done and nicely presented.

Lazy Girl

Joan Hawley of Lazy Girl Designs has been teasing for a looooooong time. I am on the edge of my seat! My guess is that she’s bringing out her own, custom handles for her bags, but I am never right. Take a peek at her blog and see if you can guess what’s coming.

I’ll be in line at Portland Quilt Market in a week, trying to get first view. Meanwhile here’s Joan’s new logo and custom labels – very sleek.
